Honda has just revealed a new 250cc scrambler motorcycle at the CIMA Motorcycle Trade Show in Chongqing, China. Named the Honda CB250SS Scrambler Concept, the bike features a neo-retro design with a rugged look.

Design And Features

The motorcycle comes with blocky dual-sport tyres and a brown ribbed seat featuring Honda branding. It sports a circular headlight setup similar to Honda's Rebel series with quad LED projector units and a protective guard. The teardrop-shaped fuel tank has a knee recess, red striping with CB250SS branding, and a white finish. A small fly screen sits at the front with red and white accents, while the front and rear mudguards use a playful red and white mix. The radiator guard features a white grille with CB branding, alongside a sturdy bash plate. The gearbox casing and front USD forks come in a gold shade, while the black side panels carry SS branding.

Engine And Performance

A 249cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine powers the bike. This motor could be shared with the Japanese-spec Rebel 250, which produces 26 bhp and 22 Nm of torque. The engine belongs to the same family that includes a 286cc motor powering the CB300R and Rebel 300. The bike also includes a circular TFT cluster with Honda RoadSync Gen 2 offering connected features and navigation, plus an up-swept exhaust with a double barrel end can. Despite the dual-purpose tyres, the 17-inch wheels and limited suspension travel suggest it may not have heavy off-road capability.

Context

Concept motorcycles are often displayed at major trade shows to gauge public interest and test new design languages before a company decides to build them for sale. While this bike has debuted in China, Honda has not yet confirmed if it will go into production or be sold in global markets.
