The central government has not yet announced a release date for the 24th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, leaving expectations for an October payout tentative. Official website records show the previous 23rd instalment was released on 20 June.

Scheme Details and Exclusions

Under this income-support initiative, eligible farmer families receive ₹6,000 every year in three equal parts of ₹2,000 paid directly into their bank accounts. State governments and Union Territory administrations identify eligible candidates using land records. However, institutional landholders, current or former constitutional post holders, ministers, and serving or retired government employees cannot receive these benefits. People who get a pension of at least ₹10,000 per month, those who acquired land after 1 February 2019, and individuals with multiple beneficiaries are also excluded or face strict verification rules.

Mandatory Verification Steps

Farmers must complete their e-KYC and register on the official PM-Kisan portal to avoid payment delays. The government has also linked benefits with a unique Farmer ID system under the AgriStack initiative, making this ID mandatory to receive instalments. If payments do not arrive after an official release, beneficiaries should check their portal status, e-KYC completion, Aadhaar-bank account linkage, and land records.

Context

The PM-Kisan scheme uses the Direct Benefit Transfer system to send funds directly to farmers across the country. Government portals advise farmers to rely only on official notifications rather than unverified social media claims regarding payment dates.
