The Anna Seve mobile app, launched by Karnataka’s Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Rizwan Arshad, will be available statewide from October 14, allowing Public Distribution System beneficiaries to complete e‑KYC online. The app, built with the National Informatics Centre and the Department of e‑Governance, has been on a pilot in eight districts since October 1. During the pilot, 1,60,267 beneficiaries completed e‑KYC through the app between October 1 and 12. The department announced that the app will now be rolled out to the remaining districts, covering the entire state. Overall, out of 2,67,64,276 PDS beneficiaries in the state, 2,06,76,278 had finished e‑KYC as of October 12, but those who did it more than a year ago must repeat the process. The government set October 20 as the final deadline and Minister Arshad urged remaining users to download the app from Google Play and finish verification quickly. By using the smartphone application, beneficiaries can complete the verification from any location with internet access. The digital facility aims to spare migrants and other users from traveling to native villages or standing in long queues at fair‑price shops. ## Context The e‑KYC process digitally verifies identity for government schemes, and the PDS supplies subsidised food grains to eligible families across Karnataka.
