Bajaj is preparing a new dual‑sport motorcycle line that could launch in several engine sizes. In a recent interview with Brazilian media, Waldyr Ferreira, Bajaj’s Executive Director for Brazil, said the first model is likely to arrive in Latin America before the end of 2026. Ferreira added that the company may not release a single bike but a full line‑up covering different displacements. Bajaj already owns a wide engine pool, from 150‑250cc air or oil‑cooled units to 200‑400cc liquid‑cooled powerplants, and could also design brand‑new engines for the range. In Brazil, Honda’s NXR 160 and Sahara 300 and Yamaha’s Crosser 150 and Lander 250 dominate the dual‑sport segment, so a multi‑model approach would let Bajaj appeal to both entry‑level off‑road riders and long‑distance tourers. Engine details and pricing remain undisclosed, but the strategy hints at a broad price and performance spectrum. In India, analysts suspect the first Bajaj bike will sit near the 200cc mark, putting it against the Hero Xpulse 210, Kawasaki KLX 230 and the newly launched Honda XR300L. All three rivals offer similar power and off‑road capability, meaning Bajaj will need comparable performance to compete. The motorcycle has been spotted testing again, confirming that development is underway and a launch is imminent.
Context
Dual‑sport bikes blend street comfort with off‑road ability, a segment where price and engine size drive buyer choice. Offering multiple engine options lets Bajaj match diverse rider needs and compete with established players in both Brazil and India.
