Brokerage firm DAM Capital has named Hindustan Aeronautics, Mishra Dhatu Nigam, and Bharat Dynamics as its top public-sector choices in the defence and aerospace sector, pointing to new drivers beyond simple order growth. ## Public Sector Picks Bharat Dynamics has a target price of 1,560 rupees, offering a 39 percent upside potential. The company ended a recent financial period with an order book of about 261.8 billion rupees, which gives it four to five years of execution visibility. Its upcoming pipeline includes quick reaction surface-to-air missiles, heavyweight torpedoes, and air-to-air missiles. Hindustan Aeronautics is the brokerage's top public-sector pick with a target price of 5,940 rupees and a 22 percent potential upside. Its Tejas Mk1A programme is nearing final induction stages, with 27 airframes ready. Mishra Dhatu Nigam has a target price of 475 rupees, pointing to an upside of over 8 percent from demand for titanium alloys and superalloys.

Private Sector And Drones

DAM Capital also favors private-sector firms Astra Microwave Products and Zen Technologies due to their focus on radar, electronic warfare, and simulation tools. Drones form another key growth area, backed by a proposed 200 billion rupee Fast Track Procurement programme for unmanned aerial vehicles and surveillance systems. Large upcoming projects like 114 Rafale fighters and six submarines represent a massive potential order opportunity, though final government approvals and execution remain important factors to watch.

Context

Brokerage recommendations often highlight selected companies based on current market trends and expected policy changes. Defence manufacturing in India has seen increased emphasis on domestic production and reducing reliance on imports.
