Former minister C.V. Shanmugam has stated that party workers need hope above all else to revive the AIADMK. Speaking to reporters, Shanmugam openly acknowledged his unhappiness with AIADMK general secretary EPS, noting that differences of opinion between them are not new and are already known to everyone.
Party Revival
Shanmugam said the recent election results delivered a clear message that the party can be rescued if the leadership provides that essential hope to the cadres. He confirmed that he currently holds no official position within the party and stated that he is ready to cooperate if those who have the authority choose to take action. Expressing sorrow and mental anguish over the AIADMK defeat in the bypoll, he also noted the positive fact that voters were not given cash during the election, calling it a welcome change.
Moving Forward
Shanmugam emphasized his deep desire to strengthen the party and brought up the past legacies of MGR and Jayalalithaa, stating that bringing back their version of the AIADMK is possible by embracing and bringing everyone together. He added that the general public still retains faith in the party.
