Paytm shares dropped three percent following a government directive that bars banks and payment companies from charging fees on UPI transactions up to two thousand rupees. This rule created new doubts about whether companies can charge fees on higher-value transactions. The share price drop happened just one day after Paytm reached a new fifty-two-week high of one thousand eight hundred forty rupees. The stock price has almost doubled compared to its low point in March, when it was nine hundred thirty rupees and sixty paisa.
