Recent internet reports claiming that the Salman Khan-starrer war film Maatrubhumi is finally moving towards release are not true. Social media pages stated that the movie would face the Central Board of Film Certification next week, but sources clarify that no such screening update exists yet and the film remains stuck due to its connection to China. Producers are currently in touch with government officials to find a way forward, after which the board can pass the film for a theatrical run. This resolution could take days, weeks, or even longer. Back in July, reports suggested a possible delay to 2027, though a subsequent poster confirmed a 2026 theatrical arrival. Whether the war saga actually hits screens in 2026 depends entirely on when these issues get resolved, as well as the availability of vacant cinema slots. Originally announced under the title Battle Of Galwan before being renamed earlier this year, the movie draws inspiration from the 2020 conflict between India and the neighboring nation. The Ministry of Defence previously raised reservations regarding certain parts of the film's content due to diplomatic relations, and reports from April indicated that the word 'China' might be cut from the final release.
