Kia Unveils New PV7 Electric Van With Up To 460km Range

Kia has revealed the PV7 as its second electric van for international markets, sitting right above the smaller PV5 model. The new van comes in two main styles: Passenger and Cargo. The Passenger version holds up to nine people globally, or up to eleven people in Korea, and also has a seven-seat layout with removable seats. The Cargo version can carry up to 1,200kg of load and features a front bench seat for three passengers where the middle seat folds into an armrest.

Battery And Performance

Under the body, the PV7 runs on an 800V E-GMP.S architecture. Buyers can pick between a 71.5kWh and a 96.2kWh battery pack. Both battery options link to a front-mounted electric motor that puts out 268hp and 400Nm of torque. Kia claims a driving range of up to 460km on a single charge. Using a 350kW DC fast charger, the battery powers up from 10 to 80 percent in the mid-twenty-minute range. The van also includes a front charging port and an optional rear-side port.

Design And Launch

Measuring 5,350mm long, 1,995mm wide, and 1,990mm high with a 3,500mm wheelbase, the van is larger than the Carnival. Inside, it features a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, a digital driver display, and a squared-off steering wheel. Safety equipment includes seven airbags and a Level 2 ADAS setup. Kia plans to launch the PV7 in Korea and Europe during the second half of 2027, followed by an all-wheel-drive version later.
