The Indian stock market fell by about one percent on Tuesday, September 15, as heavy selling hit the benchmark indices. The Nifty 50 closed at 23,172 while the broader market also saw heavy losses with no room for a recovery.

Global Causes

Markets opened weak by following losses on Wall Street, and the selling continued all day.
