Oli McBurnie Returns to Scotland Squad After Five Years

Forward Oli McBurnie returns to the Scotland squad for the first time in five years under new head coach Sebastien Pocognoli. McBurnie is thirty years old, last played for his country in 2021, and made his international debut in 2018. He has sixteen caps so far and could now win his seventeenth. He has not scored a regular goal for Scotland yet, but he did score a penalty in the shootout that took the team to the delayed Euro 2020 finals.

New Faces

Seven uncapped players make the new selection. Stoke defender Luke Graham and Sevilla striker Robbie Ure receive their very first senior call-ups. At the same time, Scott Bain, Kieron Bowie, Josh Doig, Lennon Miller, and James Wilson are brought back to the team. Meanwhile, Che Adams misses out on this squad.
