The Gujarat government has approved a two percent increase in the dearness allowance for employees of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel cleared the hike ahead of the festive season. With this update, transport corporation employees will receive dearness allowance at a rate of sixty percent. This pay revision brings financial relief to workers managing household expenses amid rising prices. Regular scale staff benefit from the updated rate, while employees on fixed salaries remain excluded from this hike. Alongside the increased monthly payout, workers will also receive payments for accumulated arrears. Dearness allowance helps government and public sector workers maintain their living standards as living costs rise. The state reviews these allowances periodically based on established pay commission guidelines and consumer price index figures. GSRTC board approval enables the final disbursement of these funds to the workforce.
