BJP MLA Returns Disputed Land After PM Modi’s Schoolmate Seeks Help
Reported by Aditya Chauhan (Staff Writer) · Times of India - Top Stories ·
Narendra Mehta, the BJP MLA, has agreed to hand back the disputed land and to withdraw the complaint he lodged against Asgar Ali Vora. Mehta’s move came after Vora, a senior schoolmate of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asked the Prime Minister for assistance on the land issue. Following the appeal, government officials convened a meeting and both sides accepted the settlement reached there. Mehta clarified that the land was bought from Mervyn Fernandes in 2019. The agreement ends a local controversy that linked the case to high‑level political connections. No further legal steps are expected, and the parties said they will move forward without lingering grievances.
