Welsh actor makes history with two lead acting wins in one night

Welsh actor Matthew Rhys made history by becoming the first person to win two lead acting prizes in a single night at a US award ceremony. Rhys won for his roles in the supernatural TV comedy Widow's Bay and the psychological thriller The Beast In Me.

The Reaction

Speaking to the BBC, Rhys called the experience surreal and incredible. He admitted he did not expect to win his first award for The Beast In Me and had not prepared a speech.
