Sons of former Indian cricket stars Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid scored major centuries on Friday during the Under-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy matches held in Vizianagaram.
Match Performances
Seventeen-year-old Anvay Dravid captained Karnataka and scored 151 runs off just 100 balls, helping his team successfully chase down a 358-run target using the VJD method against Gujarat. Meanwhile, Aaryavir Sehwag captained Delhi and hit 173 runs from 143 balls to push his team's total to 289, though Chandigarh managed to chase down the target in 41.3 overs.
Coach Guidance
Delhi coach Rajeev Nayyar had spoken to Aaryavir the night before the match, advising him to stay patient, respect the new ball, and avoid throwing away his wicket after getting a good start. Despite the loss, Aaryavir's impressive knock earned him a spot in the India Under-19 squad for the upcoming Asia Cup next month.
Context
