Saudi Arabia stops drone near Mecca as groups trade claims

Saudi Arabia said on Wednesday that security forces intercepted a Houthi drone heading towards Mecca. Riyadh called the safety of Islam's holiest city a red line that cannot be crossed. The Houthi group flatly denied that they targeted Mecca in the attack. During the same round of escalation, the Houthis claimed they shot down a Saudi F-15 fighter jet over Yemen's Marib province. Riyadh has not confirmed this claim about the fighter jet.
