Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly and director Mark Walter have sold their ownership stakes in the football club to majority owner Clearlake Capital. Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss also sold his stake, leaving Clearlake in full control of the club. Clearlake is led by co-founders Behdad Eghbali and Jose E. Feliciano. Before this deal, Boehly, Walter, and Wyss each held a 12.8 percent stake in the team, while Clearlake owned 61.5 percent of the club. With this exit, American businessman Boehly will step down from his role as chairman. He held this position since 2022, when his consortium bought the club for 2.3 billion pounds from Roman Abramovich, who faced sanctions from the UK government.
