Tata Group shares jump up to 13.5 percent following board decisions

Tata Group shares surged by up to 13.5 percent on September 17 after the Tata Sons board approved a new five-year term for N. Chandrasekaran as executive chairman. The board also started the process for a possible public listing of the group's holding company. Individual company stocks saw sharp gains on the BSE during the trading session. Tata Chemicals led the pack with a 13.5 percent jump to reach ₹831.00 per share. Tata Teleservices and Tata Investment both climbed 7.3 percent, trading at ₹38.14 and ₹732.10 respectively. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles rose as much as 6.2 percent to hit a high of ₹319.70 per share. Tata Steel also moved up 3.5 percent to reach ₹189.40, alongside gains for Tata Motors.
