Kawasaki has revealed the brand-new Versys 900, a motorcycle that slots right between the existing Versys 650 and the 1100 models.
Engine and Frame
The new bike runs on a 948cc inline-four engine taken directly from the Z900. This motor is tuned to put out 122 horsepower at 9,500rpm along with 97.3Nm of torque at 8,000rpm. The engine sits inside an all-new trellis frame built to give riders a better front-end feel and a near 50:50 weight distribution. Long-travel suspension and 17-inch wheels wrapped in Metzeler Roadtec 01 tyres complete the base setup.
Features and Tech
Riders get a 5-inch TFT screen that supports turn-by-turn navigation and phone pairing through the Rideology app. Standard safety and assist features include Kawasaki's KCMF cornering management system, traction control, cornering ABS, and a quickshifter. Buyers who pick the SE variant also get Kawasaki's ARAS suite, which brings adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, blind-spot detection, and emergency brake signalling.
Comfort and Fit
Comfort features include a windscreen that adjusts into seven different positions. The seat height can also be changed to fit different riders, ranging from 825mm to 845mm.
Context
Mid-capacity adventure and tourer motorcycles like this one are designed to handle long-distance road trips while offering a mix of sporty engine performance and everyday riding comfort.
