BMW has revealed the F 450 RR as its third motorcycle built on the 450 platform. The new motorcycle comes with four different variants at launch.

Variant Details

The entry-level Base model comes in Cosmic Black and includes dual-channel and cornering ABS, traction control, a slip-and-assist clutch, a 6.5-inch TFT display, wheelie control, three ride modes named Rain, Road and Race, heated grips, dynamic brake control, and engine drag torque control. Its monoshock lets you adjust preload and rebound, but the USD fork cannot be adjusted at all. The Exclusive variant comes in Racing Red, adding a bi-directional quickshifter and Sport suspension that makes the USD fork adjustable for compression and rebound. The third variant, called M Sport, features a Snaefell white and M Motorsport colour scheme. It adds a fourth ride mode called Race Pro, allowing users to customize control systems like ABS and traction control individually. The top-end M Sport with Innovation Package shares the same colour scheme and adds the Easy Ride Clutch system, which first appeared on the F 450 GS model's GS Trophy variant. This system makes using the clutch optional for clutchless up-and-down gear shifts.

Shared Specifications

All four variants share a 420cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. The motor puts out 48 horsepower at 8,750rpm and 43Nm of torque at 6,750rpm. Every variant also gets a KYB 43mm USD fork and monoshock, adjustable brake and clutch levers, and a Type-C USB port. Braking setup remains identical across the lineup, featuring a Brembo 310mm front disc with a four-piston monobloc caliper alongside a Bybre 240mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper.

Context

Motorcycle manufacturers often offer multiple variants of the same platform to give buyers a choice between standard features and advanced performance technology. Shared engine and chassis components help keep manufacturing costs stable while allowing companies to target different price points and rider skill levels.
