Eugenio Chacarra Takes Two-Shot Lead as Darkness Halts Play at Delhi Golf Club

Eugenio Chacarra holds a two-shot lead at 14-under par after dark skies forced play to stop on Saturday evening at the DP World India Championship at the Delhi Golf Club. Chacarra sank nine birdies during his third round and has seven holes left to play. Angel Hidalgo and Joost Luiten are tied for second place at 12-under par.

Schedule Pressure

Players face a busy Sunday with the third round starting early at 6.35 am. The tournament schedule fell behind after a five-hour weather delay on the first day, and the second round only wrapped up on Saturday morning. Only 26 out of 77 players finished their third round before the horn blew at 5.44 pm due to poor light.

Defending champion Tommy Fleetwood sits at nine-under par in tied 11th place. Patrick Reed is six-under overall after an eagle helped him climb the leaderboard following a level-par cut. Rory McIlroy stands at four-under par overall after recovering from a double bogey on the sixth hole with an eagle from a bunker on the 14th hole.

Indian Players

Om Prakash Chouhan is the top-ranked Indian player at five-under par in tied 30th place after playing 34 holes on Saturday. Anirban Lahiri stands at two-under par with two holes remaining, while Yuvraj Sandhu, Shiv Kapur, Karandeep Kochhar, and Saptak Talwar are all level par with their rounds still going.
