Singer Jamie Miller nearly gave up on his singing career at the beginning of 2026 before his track Babydoll went viral on social media. The track recently climbed to number two on the official UK charts, just behind Taylor Swift's Patient Zero, and also reached the top spot on the US iTunes pop chart. The musician from Cardiff reached out to actor Antonio Cipriano, who stars in the Amazon Prime Video series Off Campus, after seeing a comment online. Cipriano flew to Los Angeles, and the pair recorded a new version of the song on the very day they met.
Collaboration
The duo quickly formed a close bond, with Cipriano praising Miller's vocal skills and calling him a breath of fresh air. Miller invited Cipriano to perform as a guest during his US tour dates supporting The Jonas Brothers, marking a first-time arena experience for both artists in front of crowds of 20,000 people. Cipriano plays the character John Logan in the popular ice hockey television adaptation, which ranks as the third biggest series launch in Amazon Prime Video history.
Context
Viral social media platforms play a major role in launching independent artists into mainstream chart success today. Television soundtracks and cross-industry collaborations between actors and musicians frequently help new tracks reach global audiences.
