NASA Moon Orbiter Finds Rare Crater From Large Asteroid Impact

UPDATE - follow-up to NASA spacecraft discovers a huge new crater on the moon - Phys.org: NASA scientists have found that a rare asteroid impact created a massive new crater on the moon. An asteroid about the size of a six-storey building caused the crash in what space agency officials are calling a once-in-a-lifetime or once-in-a-century event. The impact sent rocks flying as far as 120 kilometres away from the crash site. A NASA scientist made the discovery by chance using the Moon Orbiter.
