Queensland River With Crocodiles Set To Host 2032 Olympic Rowing

Queensland's Fitzroy River has been approved as a rowing venue for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, despite being home to saltwater crocodiles. Located in the city of Rockhampton, the river is normally used for an annual rowing regatta where more than 600 of the state's top teenage rowers compete each year. Anthea O'Loughlin, the head of Rowing Queensland, notes that this local competition usually attracts very little outside attention. She told the BBC that they have never had any media wanting to attend the event there before.
