Netflix has confirmed that seasons two and three of the Korean medical drama "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call" are now in production. The show's first season became a major hit in 2025 by entering the Top 10 charts in 63 countries and claiming the number one spot in 18 of them.
Cast and Crew
Ju Ji-hoon returns in the lead role as the brilliant surgeon Baek Kang-hyuk. Choo Young-woo comes back as Yang Jae-won, the character who started as the surgeon's first protégé and joined the trauma team. Yoon Kyung-ho reprises his role as Han Yu-rim, a former adversary who now heads planning and coordination at Hankuk National University Hospital. Jeong Jae-kwang returns as anesthesiologist Park Gyeong-won. Newcomer Jeong Ye-in joins the cast as nurse Cheon Jang-mi after winning the part through a demanding audition. Lee Do-yun, who directed the first season, returns to direct both new seasons and write the scripts.
Production and Release
The series is based on the webtoon "Trauma Center: Golden Hour." Studio N and Mays Entertainment handle the production, while Netflix presents the show. Both new seasons will stream exclusively on Netflix, though the platform has not yet announced official premiere dates. Two cast members also feature in other current Netflix projects, as Jeong Jae-kwang stars in the romance series "Take Charge of My Heart" and Yoon Kyung-ho appears in the horror series "Dead-End Job."
Context
Streaming platforms frequently renew popular international series to retain global subscriber interest after a breakout first season. Webtoon adaptations have become a major source of material for hit Korean television dramas in recent years.
