Neetu Kapoor performed a traditional Kanya Pujan for her granddaughter Raha Kapoor on Ashtami and posted the moments on Instagram. The ritual took place at the family home where Raha, dressed in a bright orange top and blue jeans, sat on a low stool while Neetu washed her feet and offered prayers. Neetu wore a pink‑and‑white floral kurta set for the ceremony. A short video showed Neetu repeating the same puja for a young boy later in the day. The balcony shrine was decorated with flowers, a marble figure of Durga, a sacred pot and sprouted grains. Kanya Pujan, also called Kanjak Puja, is observed on Ashtami or Navami of Navratri, treating girls as embodiments of the goddess. Varun Dhawan also posted a Navami picture, standing with a group of young girls and his daughter Lara, whose face was hidden. He held a drawing that read “Happy Navratri” while Lara clung to his back. In his caption, Varun wrote Hindi wishes for the festival. ## Context The ceremony reflects a common Navratri practice where families honor the feminine divine by worshipping young girls, a tradition that reinforces cultural values of respect for women during the nine‑day festival.
