Kolkata Metro services on the North-South corridor faced a disruption lasting about one hour on Monday evening due to a technical problem.
What Happened
The issue started at Mahanayak Uttam Kumar station in Tollygunge at approximately 5.31 p.m. Officials stated that authorities operated truncated services in both directions between Maidan and Dakshineswar stations while addressing the fault. Workers resolved the problem and fully restored services along the entire Blue Line stretch at 6.23 p.m.
Context
The timing of the technical fault caused difficulties because it occurred on Maha Ashtami, a peak day when massive crowds rely heavily on the Metro to travel across the city and visit various Durga Puja pandals.
