Warriors Fans Throw Bottles at Referees After NRL Semi-Final Loss at Eden Park

Angry fans threw water bottles and other items at referees leaving the field after the New Zealand Warriors lost an NRL semi-final match at Eden Park. The ugly scenes happened immediately after the final whistle, sparked by frustration over harsh Bunker video-referee calls that swung the game against the team.

Reactions and Fallout

Warriors coach Andrew Webster slammed the match officials after his team exited the tournament, stating he had never heard some of the calls before. Meanwhile, Newcastle Knights boss Adam O'Brien dismissed a game-deciding missed call by saying he did not even notice it during the tense playoff match.
