Andros Townsend joked that playing Stoke away felt much better after a strange accident in Thailand where a pitch roller ran him over. The 35-year-old former England winger currently plays for PT Prachuap in Thai League 1, having moved to Thailand in 2025 when he joined Kanchanaburi Power. The incident happened on Saturday while the former Tottenham, Luton and Crystal Palace forward was warming up before a match at Pattani. A member of staff appeared to lose control of the heavy pitch roller during the pre-match session, leading to the collision.
