Three people die in Kerala landslide and flash flood as heavy rain hits state and Sikkim

Three people have died in a landslide and flash flood in Kottakamboor village located in Kerala's Idukki district. Rescue teams recovered the bodies of the victims after the flash flood hit the area following continuous heavy downpours. In response to the worsening weather, the India Meteorological Department has issued rainfall alerts across seven districts in the state. Authorities put both Idukki and Kottayam districts under a strict orange alert due to the forecast of heavy to very heavy rain. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall has also struck Gangtok in Sikkim, causing major landslides that blocked important roads and cut off normal travel routes.
