Three men who fired at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff outside a Juhu football ground on October 18 had visited the same spot a week earlier on October 11, according to CCTV footage and call data records. Police suspect the attackers planned to target him on the earlier date, but left because he did not play that Sunday. Shroff regularly plays football at the Pushpa Narsee Ground between 5 pm and 7 pm every Sunday. On October 18, the suspects arrived around 4.30 pm and checked the gate repeatedly. Investigators believe other individuals may have tracked Shroff's movements to alert the shooters, who opened fire as he emerged around 7 pm.

Attack Details

The FIR, filed on a complaint by 48-year-old driver Firdous Ibrahim Baloch, states that two gunmen fired from the front and left side of a BMW as it turned left from the gate, while a third accused waited on a motorcycle. Baloch, who has worked for the family for 28 years and resides in Jogeshwari, sustained a bullet wound in his left wrist and a fractured right ring finger. Shroff suffered injuries to his chest and right hand. Baloch described the attackers' clothing, noting the shooters wore white shoes and black trousers, with one in a white floral shirt and the other in a light-blue full-sleeved shirt, while the motorcycle rider wore a chocolate-coloured T-shirt with a white stripe and grey trousers.

Aftermath

Initial gunfire sounds were mistaken for firecrackers due to a prior birthday celebration at the ground. After realizing the attack, Shroff moved into the driver's seat and drove himself and Baloch to the Santacruz Police Station before police transported them to Nanavati Hospital. Shroff's friend noted that family members, including his mother and sister, arrived at the hospital about an hour later. Police believe the intended targets of the shooting were Shroff and his driver.

Context

High-profile public figures and celebrities often attract security risks during public outings, leading law enforcement to closely monitor threats and coordinate security measures around regular recreational spots. Incidents involving targeted attacks near public venues typically prompt intensive reviews of local surveillance systems and call records to trace suspect movements.
