iQOO has set the launch of its Neo 12 gaming phone for October 28, 2026 in China, with sales to follow shortly after. ## Launch Details The launch event is scheduled for 7 pm China time (4:30 pm IST) and pre‑bookings are open on Vivo’s official website. ## Design & Specs The handset uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor paired with iQOO’s own Snapdragon Q3 gaming chipset. It sports a 2K OLED panel from Visionox that can refresh at 185 Hz, reach a peak brightness of 2,200 nits and dim to 1 nit. An integrated fan and iQOO’s Ice Dome active‑cooling system sit behind a round grille on the large rounded‑square rear camera module, which carries the “Monster Inside” badge and two vertically stacked lenses. The metal body includes exhaust vents on the right side and comes in three finishes – Contest with a textured back, Shadow Black and Frost Blade Blue – designed in partnership with the China Academy of Art. Other hardware includes a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, a 5,000 Hz touch‑sampling rate and support for over 50 games at 2K resolution up to 185 fps. Reports suggest a 9,000 mAh battery with 100 W wired charging, though iQOO has not confirmed these numbers. ## Availability The Neo 12 will be sold in China from the launch date and may appear in select markets under the iQOO 16R brand with the same specs. An India launch remains unconfirmed; the previous Neo 11 never reached India and the Neo 10 is the latest model there. ## Context Gaming‑focused phones are a fast‑growing segment in China, and iQOO often teams with local design institutes to give its devices a distinctive look and performance edge.
