Actors Sara Ali Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar to seek blessings on Dussehra, as their upcoming film Udta Teer nears its theatrical release. Pictures show both actors dressed in white outfits at Darbar Sahib with folded hands, while Sara covered her head with a dupatta. Sara shared a photo on social media wishing her followers a happy Dussehra with love, luck, and laughter. A video from the visit has gone viral online, showing Sara looking visibly overwhelmed and moved to tears while praying at the shrine.

Film Details And Ban

Udta Teer is scheduled to arrive in theatres on October 23, after its initial release date was pushed back from October 9. The movie marks the directorial debut of Akash A Kaushik and features a large cast including Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Suhail Nayyar, Gulshan Grover, Mukul Dev, Raghubir Yadav, Brijendra Kala, Sandeep Anand, Supriya Pilgaonkar, and Smita Tambe. However, the film will not be screened publicly in Nepal. Nepal's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology denied exhibition permission after the Central Film Censor Board reviewed the film on Ashwin 19, 2083, and found it violated Section 8(3) of the National Cinema Act.

Production And Collaborations

The movie is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Achin Jain. It brings together Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment once again, and serves as the second collaboration between Ayushmann and Sara following Pati Patni Aur Woh Do.

Context

Actors frequently visit prominent religious shrines to pray for the success of their films ahead of theatrical releases. Meanwhile, international film boards routinely review foreign movies and can block their public screening based on domestic censorship laws.
