The Railway Recruitment Boards have released the exam city intimation slip for the upcoming Junior Engineer recruitment test under CEN 04/2026. Candidates can now view their exam city, exam date, and shift details on the official regional websites. The first-stage computer-based test is scheduled for October 27 and October 28, 2026.

Schedule And Access

According to the official notice released on October 17, 2026, the slip is made available ten days before each candidate's specific test date. Those whose exam falls on October 27 can check their details starting October 17, while candidates scheduled for October 28 can access their slip from October 18. Aspirants must log in using their credentials on their respective regional board website to download the document.

Travel And Verification

Eligible SC and ST candidates receive a free travel authority in Sleeper Class, which is available to download along with the city slip for journeys to and from the test city. Officials remind candidates to carry the original caste certificate during travel and at the exam centre. Identity verification at the test venue uses Aadhaar-based biometrics, requiring test-takers to bring the exact same Aadhaar card used during their online application.

Context

Exam city intimation slips help applicants plan their travel and accommodation in advance without having to wait for the final admit card. The actual e-call letter or admit card typically becomes available about four days before the scheduled test date. Railway recruitment processes handle large volumes of applicants across the country, making staggered release schedules a standard practice.
