Hollywood actor Tom Cruise says that while artificial intelligence is coming to the film industry, audiences will always want to see real things on screen. Speaking in London at a BAFTA Life in Pictures event, Cruise noted that nothing can replace the human element in cinema. He pointed out that this summer's box office success shows people still want to go to movie theaters and share the theatrical experience together. Cruise also discussed his upcoming movie Digger, directed by Alejandro G Iñárritu, where he plays a wealthy oil tycoon and wears a fat suit and prosthetics. The actor stated he underwent a dramatic physical transformation for the role, with the makeup initially taking six hours to apply. Digger is set to release in theaters on October 2 through Warner Bros.
