Apple is testing new screen sizes and designs for its upcoming phone models. Based on details shared by Digital Chat Station, the iPhone 20 Pro is currently being tested with a 6.41-inch display and a resolution of 2,686 by 1,236 pixels. The larger iPhone 20 Pro Max is undergoing testing with a 6.96-inch screen and a resolution of 2,912 by 1,340 pixels.
Design Changes
MacRumors reports that Apple is trying out a quad-curved display with no borders for this series, meaning all four sides of the screen will curve. This design direction matches an earlier report from Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman this August, which stated that Apple's anniversary model might feature front and rear glass that wraps around the sides to leave a metal band in the middle.
Cutouts and Launch
The newest leaks also point to a smaller Dynamic Island cutout, with Apple potentially moving to a small punch-hole layout instead of a larger pill-shaped area. At the same time, earlier reports mentioned that Apple is testing under-display Face ID and an under-display camera, showing the company is still looking at multiple approaches. These phones are anticipated to arrive in September 2027, but they remain early-stage leaks and Apple has not yet confirmed the devices or their final release date.
