Ultraviolette Automotive has revealed its new VX-100 platform and launched the X-47 Venom motorcycle, with introductory prices starting at Rs 2.65 lakh for the entry-level variant with a 7.5kWh battery. The top variant featuring an 11kWh battery in Afterburner Yellow costs Rs 4.12 lakh, with all prices ex-showroom Bengaluru. These introductory rates apply only to the first 5,000 buyers, after which prices will increase by Rs 35,000 per variant.

What Changed

The new platform reduces weight and improves range. The base 7.5kWh variant weighs 180kg, which is 17kg lower than the previous model, while the Recon variant with an 11kWh battery weighs 195kg. Claimed range is now 343km for the top variant and 227km for the base variant. The VX-100 platform improves the battery, motor, and controller to be lighter, pack more energy, and cool down faster. Ultraviolette's fastest ride mode, Ballistic, works until 10 percent battery charge, and regenerative braking is now available from 99 percent charge.

Performance and Features

The Recon variant delivers a peak power of 40hp and 90Nm of torque, with rear wheel torque at 550Nm. Acceleration times reach 0 to 60kph in 2.7 seconds and 0 to 100kph in 5.9 seconds. Standard portable charging takes 5 hours and 30 minutes for a 20 to 80 percent top-up. New features on top variants include cruise control, camera-powered parking assistance, and a 7-inch TFT display. Other standards include dual-channel ABS, traction control, and dynamic stability control, while higher variants add radar-powered assistance and an integrated dashcam. Bookings are open now with deliveries starting in November.

Context

Electric vehicle manufacturers constantly update motor architectures and battery packs to improve range and reduce weight. Introductory pricing models help companies secure early adopters and build market momentum for new product platforms.
