Hero MotoCorp has launched the updated Xtreme 160R 4V, starting at Rs 1.27 lakh and going up to Rs 1.41 lakh for the top-spec Carbon variant. The bike features a sharp new design inspired by the Xtreme 250R, a 163.2cc single-cylinder engine that now makes 17.1 PS of peak power, and a host of new tech additions.
Features And Ride
The updated model brings a new 4.2-inch TFT instrument cluster with auto brightness, Bluetooth connectivity, and a quarter-mile drag timer. Riders also get adjustable clutch and brake levers, illuminated switchgear, three riding modes, a ride-by-wire throttle, and cruise control. On the road, the bike offers a light clutch and a softly sprung suspension setup that handles corners well, though test riders noted some notchy gear shifts and an inconsistent clutch bite point.
Context
Sporty 160cc motorcycles compete in a crowded market segment in India against established rivals like the TVS Apache and Bajaj Pulsar families. Manufacturers regularly update these models with new styling and connected features to attract younger buyers looking for performance on a budget.
