Samsung India Electronics reported a 36 per cent drop in net profit to Rs 7,228.10 crore for the financial year that ended on March 31, 2026. Financial data from a RoC filing shows this decrease follows a profit of Rs 11,287.50 crore in the previous fiscal year.
Revenue and Segment Performance
Even with the profit decline, the company saw its revenue from operations rise by 1.2 per cent to reach Rs 1.12 lakh crore, with total consolidated income hitting Rs 1.14 lakh crore. The core mobile phone business, which brings in the largest share of the topline, faced a minor dip with handheld phone revenue falling 1.35 per cent to Rs 81,472.2 crore. In the mobile market, Samsung competes against Apple in the premium category and against Chinese brands like Vivo, Xiaomi, Oppo and Realme in mass-market segments.
Appliances and Exports
Growth in other categories helped offset the mobile slowdown. Home appliances revenue grew 3.52 per cent to Rs 12,240.60 crore, and audio-visual product revenue increased 8.5 per cent to Rs 8,055.90 crore. Software development and export revenue also climbed 6.85 per cent to Rs 2,430.10 crore. Domestically, local market revenue grew 9.34 per cent to Rs 65,873.30 crore, but total export revenue slipped 5.64 per cent to Rs 41,068.60 crore.
Expenses and Royalty Costs
Total expenses for the firm grew 3.54 per cent to Rs 1.04 lakh crore. Advertising and promotion spending dropped 11.9 per cent to Rs 3,850.50 crore, while cost royalty paid to the South Korean parent company rose 7.2 per cent to Rs 3,474 crore for technical know-how and manufacturing assistance. Samsung India remains the only company in the appliance and consumer electronics space with a turnover above Rs 1 lakh crore.
