The Staff Selection Commission has released the SSC CGL 2026 Tier‑I city intimation slip, letting candidates see their allotted exam city, date and shift on the official SSC portal at ssc.gov.in. The Tier‑I computer‑based exam runs from September 30 to October 30, 2026, with each candidate assigned a specific date and shift that can be checked on the slip. Admit cards will appear on the portal two to three days before the personal exam date, and candidates must download them by logging in with their registration details. The admit card shows the exact reporting time and shift timing, which candidates should follow rather than any circulating online schedule. The exam lasts one hour and contains 100 questions worth 200 marks, split into four sections – General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension – each with 25 questions. Wrong answers attract a penalty of 0.50 marks. The test is conducted in computer‑based mode, with questions available in English and Hindi except for the English Comprehension section, which is only in English. The recruitment drives for 12,256 Group B and Group C vacancies across central government ministries, departments and organisations. The city slip release is the first major pre‑exam update; the admission certificate will follow closer to each candidate’s allotted date. Candidates should verify their venue, date, shift and reporting schedule on both the city slip and the final admit card before appearing for the exam.
