Teenage Engineering has launched the EP-35, a battery‑powered amp that supports synths, guitars and vocals and includes built‑in effects. ## Features The unit offers a line‑in jack, a 1/4‑inch guitar input and an XLR mic input that can supply phantom power. Audio can be streamed via Bluetooth and several EP‑35s can be linked using Auracast; when paired in stereo, tilting a speaker left or right automatically routes it to the left or right channel, a neat way to set up a stereo pair. Guitar and vocal channels each have dedicated effects processors, but users select style‑based presets such as “blues”, “indie”, “twang” for guitar or “radio” and “robo choir” for vocals, and adjust intensity with a single knob. ## Accessories Teenage Engineering also sells an “amptenna” that converts the amp into an FM radio, letting users tune into local stations, and an EP‑127 KO Pedal, a wireless MIDI controller that unlocks a simple looper, metronome and an expression‑pedal jack for channel volume. The pedal provides a 3.5 mm MIDI output and can act as an HID controller for other synths, pedals or even computer video playback. ## Pricing The EP‑35 is available now for $399. ## Context Portable, Bluetooth‑enabled amps with preset effects are becoming popular among bedroom musicians who need versatile, easy‑to‑use gear without bulky setups.
