Tu Hai Meri Kiran, starring Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, has earned a one‑star rating as critics call its time‑travel story a muddled mess.

Plot

A woman in 2026 finds a flip‑top phone that connects her to a man in 2016. She is Kiran (Sinha), happily married, while the man is Samar (Iqbal), a jobless stalker. Their lives loop through break‑ups and reunions. The film shows hills, bungalows, carnivals and movie theatres. Supporting cast includes Ankit Gupta as Kiran’s husband, Purnendu Bhattacharya as her stern dad and Zarina Wahab as Samar’s complaining mother. The title borrows from a 1990s hit about a stalker hero.

Reception

The makers aim for classic time‑travel thrills with old scratched devices and flashing memories, but the script rushes between past and present, leaving viewers exhausted. Samar is shown as a Class A creep who secretly films the girl he dreams of, echoing Bollywood’s habit of glorifying stalkers. Writer and director Karan Rawal fails to give the psychological thriller any lift. Even though Sonakshi and Zaheer previously acted together in the 2022 film Double X L, they cannot rescue the convoluted mess.

Context

Time‑travel movies need tight storytelling; without it audiences lose interest. Bollywood’s recent shift away from romanticising stalkers adds to the criticism of this film.
