Maserati has revealed a comprehensive refresh for its GranTurismo and GranCabrio models, bringing visual changes, cabin updates, and mechanical tweaks. Both luxury cars get an aggressive new front bumper inspired by the MCPura, with reshaped air intakes and a splitter built to increase downforce. The rear features LED tail-lamps with clear-lens detailing, while retaining classic design cues like slim headlamps, a long bonnet, triple fender vents, and muscular rear haunches.
Cabin And Customisation
Inside, the cabin layout stays mostly the same, but adds an octagonal race-inspired steering wheel with dark satin aluminium spokes and a redesigned digital clock with new graphics. Metal knobs now handle the drive selector, and a parking function sits inside the steering wheel paddles. A new monitoring system tracks driver fatigue and behaviour. Buyers can also pick from new paint choices via the Fuoriserie personalisation programme, including Green Jupiter Matte, Blu Denim, Bronzo Lucido, Bronzo Matte, Grigio Mistero, Rosso Velluto, and Oro Lirico, alongside new finishes for badges and exhaust tips.
Engine And Performance
Under the hood, both models keep the 3.0-litre twin-turbo 'Nettuno' V6 engine paired with a recalibrated 8-speed automatic gearbox. Modena variants pump out 490hp and 600Nm, while Trofeo variants jump from 550hp to 590hp with 650Nm of torque. The GranTurismo Modena hits 0-100kph in 3.7 seconds with a 302kph top speed, and the Trofeo does it in 3.5 seconds up to 320kph. The heavier GranCabrio Modena reaches 0-100kph in 4 seconds and tops out at 300kph, while its Trofeo version does 0-100kph in 3.6 seconds and reaches 316kph. A new 'Country' drive mode raises ground clearance by 20mm at speeds up to 120kph.
Context
Luxury car makers frequently update their existing model lineups with mid-cycle facelifts to keep them fresh against competing high-performance sports cars. These refreshes often mix minor cosmetic tweaks with targeted power boosts to attract buyers in the high-end vehicle segment.
