Abundantia aiON, the AI studio division of Abundantia Entertainment, has partnered with AI video technology firm InVideo to announce its very first movie titled Beta Builder. The project is part of a three-film slate backed by an Rs. 100 crores joint corpus between the two companies.

Plot and Background

The movie is based on a novel called 'Beta Builder: Mumbai In The Metaverse' written by author Sukriti YJ. The story follows a self-taught, genius architect named Jai who lives in Dharavi. Jai gets an opportunity to fulfill his dreams in a virtual reality world, but he soon realizes that winning involves much more than just proving his talent. As an underdog, he must fight a system that holds him back, win the love of his life, and help his community find a voice to shape its own future.

Production and Leadership

Beta Builder is being made under Abundantia aiON's 'Human-First, AI-Empowered' creative philosophy. This approach keeps human storytelling at the center while using artificial intelligence across every step of production, from early development to the final screen. Vikram Malhotra, who is the Founder and CEO of Abundantia Entertainment, stated that the film is a deeply human story about ambition, identity, and courage, and noted that it is exciting to bring it to life using technology. This project is the first in a planned slate of five AI-driven films that the partners will develop over the next three years, featuring fully AI-generated as well as live-action and AI hybrid productions starting in early 2027.

Context

Abundantia Entertainment was founded in the year 2013 and has previously produced popular films and series such as Baby, Airlift, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Shakuntala Devi, Sherni, the Chhorii franchise, Breathe, Daldal, Subedaar, and Maa Behen. The use of artificial intelligence in filmmaking represents a growing trend where production studios partner with technology firms to test new ways of creating visual content and digital storytelling.
