Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone to film major song for upcoming movie King

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone will shoot a grand song sequence for their upcoming action movie King in Mumbai starting October 26. Choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant will direct the routine, which will take a week to complete with the film's cast. The makers chose to shoot the track in Mumbai instead of earlier plans to travel to South Africa. ## Cast and Crew This project marks the sixth time Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are starring together, following their previous films Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express, Happy New Year, Pathaan, and Jawan. It is also the eighth collaboration between the actor and Vaibhavi Merchant, who previously worked with him on Jawan. This schedule marks Padukone's return to work after having her second daughter, Devi Padukone Singh, with her husband Ranveer Singh. Siddharth Anand is directing and co-writing the film, leading a large cast that includes Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal, and Abhay Verma. Gauri Khan, Siddharth Anand, and Mamta Anand are producing the project under Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures. ## Context King is planned for a theatrical release during the Christmas period, where it will face competition from big Hollywood titles like Jumanji, Avengers: Doomsday, and Dune 3. Large-scale song sequences are a common tradition in commercial Indian cinema to build early audience excitement before a film hits theatres.
