Bihar has drawn 1,091 investment proposals worth 1,21,863 crore rupees since 2025, which can create more than 68,807 jobs in the state. Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh shared these figures while speaking to the media in Patna on Friday, noting that the state's industrial growth is moving fast.

Project Details

A key focus is the Bihar Integrated Manufacturing City Gaya Limited project. Spread across roughly 1,670 acres in Gaya ji, it is set to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary in the Dobhi area near Bodh Gaya alongside a new web portal. Department Secretary Kundan Kumar stated that the project brings modern facilities like recreation spaces, sports zones, pollution-control systems, a Common Effluent Treatment Plant, and an Integrated Control and Command Centre.

Land and Policy Push

To support future growth, work is underway to provide over 14,600 acres of new industrial land across 28 locations in 25 districts. The Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority has allotted 727.02 acres to 521 units since the start of the 2025-26 financial year, bringing in 18,380.25 crore rupees in planned investments and 49,167 jobs. The state has also introduced the Bihar Semiconductor Policy 2026 to back advanced technology sectors, while the Chief Minister's Entrepreneur Scheme has disbursed over 3,414 crore rupees to 47,075 beneficiaries.

Context

Integrated manufacturing hubs help states attract large corporate investments by offering ready-to-use infrastructure in a single dedicated zone. Bihar is positioning itself to draw interest from Southeast Asian nations by leveraging its deep religious and tourism ties to Buddhism.
