DRI seizes 1.1 crore worth of methamphetamine on Bhopal to Hyderabad bus

Officers of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized over one kilogram of suspected methamphetamine worth approximately ₹1.1 crore from a passenger bus coming to Hyderabad from Bhopal. Acting on specific tips, the DRI Hyderabad Zonal Unit checked the vehicle after it reached Hyderabad on Friday. During the search, team members found four packets hidden underneath the mattresses of sleeper berths. A field-testing kit confirmed the substance was methamphetamine, with a gross weight of 1.136 kg. Initial checks showed the passengers who booked those berths had boarded in Bhopal and got off at Nagpur. Authorities seized the drugs under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985. Officials have not made any arrests yet, and the inquiry continues.
