Film Review

Well-known writer Paruchuri Gopala Krishna shared his review of the film 'Vishwanath Sons', starring Suriya in the lead role. He praised the cast for their wonderful performances while pointing out that a single change would have made the movie even better.

Story and Runtime

Editor Naveen Nooli did a bold experiment by showing a story within a story. The film runs for 161 minutes, but cutting some scenes to bring the runtime down to 130 minutes would have helped. The plot follows a hero who wins an Olympic medal in his childhood, but loses interest in marriage after his father marries a second time. The story then moves forward with the question of whether such a man will marry a woman who is twenty years younger than him. He has a child through surrogacy with the help of a young woman living abroad for his mother's sake.

Suggested Changes

Paruchuri noted that a specific episode where the hero visits his stepmother's house and helps solve her troubles alongside the heroine is unnecessary for Telugu audiences, though Tamil viewers might like such scenes. Removing this track to bring the runtime to two hours and ten minutes would have worked wonders. While the climax left viewers heavy-hearted when the heroine is sent abroad, the subsequent fast-forward cuts brought happiness to the audience and helped the film succeed.
