Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has scheduled the Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET) for 3 November 2026. ## Exam Details Candidates can view their allocated exam city by logging into the UPESSC portal. The six designated cities are Prayagraj, Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Meerut and Agra. The exam will be held in two shifts; the first from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and the second from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Each paper contains 150 questions worth 150 marks, lasts two and a half hours and carries no negative marking. The test is open to teachers serving in primary, upper‑primary schools and special teachers for children with special needs (CWSN). ## Admit Card Admit cards will be released on 31 October 2026 and can be downloaded from the official website upessc.up.gov.in using the candidate’s registration number or mobile number and date of birth. The admit card, not the exam city slip, shows the exact centre address, date and time. Candidates must carry the admit card and a valid photo ID to the centre; entry without a valid admit card will be denied. Changing the allotted centre is not allowed. ## Context The Special TET provides a second route for sitting teachers in Uttar Pradesh to earn the state’s teacher eligibility certificate, supplementing the regular TET schedule.
