UPDATE - follow-up to Today News Headlines for School Assembly, September 25, 2026: IIT professors demand clear protocols for handling students in exam malpractice cases: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued draft rules that propose a nationwide ban on analogue paneer. The draft, released today, seeks to prohibit the production and sale of paneer‑like products that are not made from dairy milk. FSSAI says the ban is intended to prevent misleading food labeling and protect consumer health. The proposal will be examined by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare before any final order is issued. If the ban is finalized, manufacturers of such substitutes will have to stop selling them across the country.
